A country kid from the swamplands of North Carolina, Tyrrell has worked in nearly every part of the entertainment industry, passionately creating innovative ways to tell stories through writing, visuals, and sound.

 

After getting his start as a sound engineer at the age of 16, Tyrrell quickly became known for his vocal and harmony arrangements and became one of Atlanta's sought-after vocal producers and writers in the early 2000s. After being introduced to commercial production in 2011, he moved to NYC to grow his knowledge of post-production audio. This led him to work with global brands like Disney, Scholastic, and Penguin-Random House among others.

While in these rooms, Tyrrell showed his versatility and knack for knowing how to deliver, allowing him to pivot into producer and directorial roles for commercials, TV shows, and films.

 

In 2015 Tyrrell moved back to Atlanta to start his own production company. After a few years of experimenting, he opened TYDEF Studios in 2018. Since then, TYDEF has become a world-renowned production company specializing in the creation of audiobooks, podcasts, and audio dramas.

These days, Tyrrell continues to regularly pursue opportunities to write, direct, and produce commercials and documentaries. He's a regular guest speaker and panelist for conferences and workshops around the country, particularly for those in school or Universities and those starting their careers in the entertainment industry.
